What is COPPA?

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was signed into law on October 21, 1998 and became effective as of April 21, 2000. The purpose of COPPA is to regulate the online collection and use of personal information provided by and concerning children under the age of thirteen (13). On October 21, 1999, the Federal Trade Commission, pursuant to the requirements of COPPA, published final rules in the Federal Register implementing COPPA. The Rules set forth the specific manner in which entities are expected to comply with, and how the FTC will enforce, COPPA.

To address COPPA and the concerns of organizations, AboomA does not permit children under age eighteen (18) to register for membership or subscribe to services. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but it is the easiest way to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and the concerns of the organizations. We do not knowingly allow account profiles to be created by children under age eighteen (18). However, if you discover that your young child is using our service and would like their account terminated, please email us at privacy@abooma.com

COPPA requires that site operators disclose how all personal information that we obtain is used. For that information, please review the AboomA Privacy Policy below.

What Information Do We Collect?

If you participate or register a participant in a youth or adult athletic program managed by a group, organization or association using AboomA's products and services, you initially will be directed to create an online membership account by entering a user ID and password. Unique identifiers, such as IDs and passwords, are collected to verify your identity and to enable secure access to our products and services in the future. Based on the demographic questions and requirements set forth by our clients during registration, personal information including, but not limited to your name, address, phone number, email address, birth date, gender and ZIP code, may be collected. Registration on any single AboomA athletic website will not necessarily permit your registration and access to all AboomA athletic websites and you may be required to register more than once for access to multiple AboomA athletic websites. Although AboomA takes extreme efforts to safeguard your private registration information, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be guaranteed secure in all cases.

With Whom Do We Share Information?

In most cases, our clients are organization owners or athletic associations and our end users are parents and/or participants. Third party organization owners and athletic associations may use AboomA's products and services to coordinate, facilitate, and manage an athletic league(s). In these cases, AboomA agrees to provide these third parties personal information collected from parents/participants who register for specific athletic programs. Each organization or athletic association may have privacy and security policies different from AboomA. AboomA assumes no responsibility for the activities of any third party association or organization to whom AboomA may provide information.
